Let me know who is running these tires. I'd like to look at lap times over the course of an event like the Turkey Trot. Be interested to see if they can keep their times up the entire weekend especially on the same set of tires. Any chance some of the guys might run the January Majors? I maybe there and like to look at the tires.

When I had my GP Turner 950 S powered by the smallest motor in GP, 948 CC, I lived the watch them pull away on the straights and wait for the right moment in the twisty part (usually the last lap) and then block like hell. But, I won my fare share of races and had a blast racing the 1500/1600 cc monsters.

So, why not ask for 5% reduction for these tires if you really need 8%.

Because we all know what the answer will be if you ask for too much.

WE should have 2 or more running these at Turkey Trot.
My 2100 # car on 235/45/13. . I may run them BTB with my Majors race setup . That is 430 Goodyear front and Hoosier GT Pro medium rear . Why Hoes on the rear? They tolerate more pressure and roll better.

. I may just run 50# light for the Turkey after practice at full weight . For data . maybe we all will reduce weight :)

Anywho . I hope to get both of my cars on these and it looks like most of the non LBC may try them . Eventually when they run out of current stock. Checking on windshield banners as we speak .

For Majors , my driver wants to win and we will probably use my 9 lap GY fronts from runoffs . If we are near the front I will add GY to the rear and try for a free tire .
If we get some weight off , we may run the AR1 at Majors . Imagine not needing 4 tires per weekend? Hope and dreams .

So I mounted up 2 of the Nankang AR1 235/45/13 for the front of my VW . This car was prepped for Rumoffs and was pretty fast recently . Good power, welded diff, correct gears , Its a good fast car at this point .
The prior best time for me , with a fresh engine in reasonable weather , was about 2:37.8 or so. Soft draft maybe . Ron Bartell's LR is a 2:36 something, set with draft on a cool day . Thats fast for HP.

Sat am around 10:00 is the fastest time of the day at Sebring historically . I went out for practice and ran 2:39. 4 or so . I was expecting 2:42-3 on these tires. I did not hate them . The turn in was a little delayed RE to the Hoosier radials. I found that I missed a few apexes until I backed up my turn in points. They like power on to hit the apex. This car wont turn power off.
Next was Q session and I adjusted to the tires better and trail braked into T17 more . Went 2:39. 08 solid . Slower time of day powerwise , but a little better grip from the tires. I think that the tires got better , could have been me. The Goodyears that I ran in the Summer heat would smell inside the car in T 17 as I had the pedal matted. These did not smell that way and took the abuse well.
The tire seems to be a bit faster than expected . I know that they are off about 2-3 sec or so. The grip level delta shows up the most at T1 .. Down about 3 mph mid turn from the GY or Hoosiers.
I still had a gap on the second place car and won the first 3 sessions. I was gunna change to the Hoosiers for the Sun race but my wife would not let me mess with the car .
I scaled 27 # over post race Sun.

Sebring laps get slower about 2 sec per 100# for these cars at 125 HP.

100 TW and 6% weight off would be in contention IMHO.
4 % and some may try 100TW as a cost saver. More races per tire.

2% would be a start .

The tires look like they should last at least 4 weekends at this rate of wear. Maybe more. The delivered price was about 180$
This is the only 100TW that I can find that comes in the fat 13 in size. And I dont hate it.

Good morning all, I run the 100TW Toyo R888's on my ITB car. They have been on for a year now. I ran the Turkey Trot at Sebring and used them all weekend, not to mention that I ran them in the October points championship races all weekend, and on Sunday's feature race I turned my fasted laps yet. You do need to monitor the tire pressures but you figure that out I feel that they are great tires. I like them so much that I will be running them on my FP mustang.

Manny. Youre killing me. You're supposed to go a little slower, not faster. :)
Nankang is putting in for Pizza and some trophies for our racers. Please consider joining our little cheapass racer group . CFR for now , Sebring , Daytona etc. Maybe the SE division. eventually the World.
