Does anyone have interest in running this tire?

seriously? until someone is willing to make all the different sizes used in a class floating this idea is meaningless.

90% of HP can use 13s.
And the lightest cars will move up a bit.

No. They suck. I wouldn't even run them on my STU car.

I put a set (in Miata size) on my RX7 to run with vintage for a weekend. While they were only 205 width instead of the 245 I normally run, I was 9-10 seconds off my normal pace and I steered more with the throttle than usual. I'm sure it would get better if I ran a wider tire, but daaaaang it was frustrating knowing what the car could do and being held back that much by tires. I was pedaling it around the track the entire race.

I use the RA1 205/60R13 as rains, just because they were a lot cheaper and I never use them. And then I put them on at VIR, last Oct and ran the whole weekend on them.

I tried a set of what IIRC was a predecessor tire 20 ish years ago in ITC, probably the 205/60-13. They were slower than the class dominating Hoosier but not by a huge amount, maybe 2 seconds IIRC(??). Felt fine, I liked the way it drove, just wasn't competitive.

ITC Scirocco is lightish and low powered, but the tires worked OK IMO.

Switching over to a "spec" tire in a diverse category like Prod would NOT be easy - OTOH non limited "slicks" are stupidly expensive to run and be competitive.

Was that in the dry? If so, how much slower do you think they are than newish slicks?

I'm sorry, it rained both days. I left them full tread for rain. Sunday it was pouring down.

Honestly… DOT tires do not belong in prod as a spec tire. If you want to run them and save money and be slower vs. a slick, that’s a choice you can make. But, please don’t force them on the prod community as a mandate.

Just my two cents.
